Country music superstar Morgan Wallen is under fire after cancelling the second of his two shows in Pittsburgh just hours before it was set to begin.
Wallen, who is currently the best-selling country artist in the world, played a show Friday night at Acrisure Stadium in front of a sold-out crowd as part of his “Still the Problem” tour.
He was supposed to do the same on Saturday. However, fans tailgaiting in the lots found out just hours before showtime that Wallen and his band would not be taking the stage.
Morgan Wallen Cites Weather For Cancellation Of Pittsburgh Concert
After talking with local officials and my team, there is no choice but to cancel tonight’s show due to severe adverse weather conditions expected throughout the rest of the day and night,” Wallen wrote on his Instagram story when addressing the reason for the cancellation.
“Safety for my fans and crew is my highest priority,” he added. “Refunds available at point of purchase.”
However, a number of Wallen’s fans weren’t buying the explanation.

“Pittsburgh for the weekend and @MorganWallen just cancelled for tonight. Mind you, it’s sunny and the rain is supposed to wrap up by 4 p.m. Refunds without a reschedule date is wild,” one fan said on social media.
“Morgan Wallen cancelled his concert in Pittsburgh an hour ago due to severe weather. The weather is now done. Fire the management, fire the meteorologists, fire the canons,” said another.
Wallen recently faced scrutiny from fans over his on-stage behaviour as well as the sound quality during a show in Denver. Now it appears that fans in Pittsburgh are equally disappointed.
“Morgan Wallen cancels his show for ‘severe weather’ in Pittsburgh. The weather hit already, and it’s clear skies as of 3:30. Can’t see anything else on the radar. Cover up cancellation? Zach Bryan would never,” wrote @ZeroBucsGiven on social media, who also suggested that Wallen turned down the opportunity to move the concert to Sunday.
Ultimately, we can understand Wallen’s concern regarding the weather. However, radars did show that the storm was expected to pass well before the start of the concert. So it’s easy to see why fans are so furious at the 33-year-old country star.
