The Dallas Cowboys and star cornerback Trevon Diggs have reportedly come to an agreement on a five-year contract extension worth an $97 million and can get up to $104 million.

The deal, which is being finalized, includes a substantial signing bonus of $21.25 million, according to reports from theScore’s Jordan Schultz.

This extension now puts Diggs among the highest-paid cornerbacks in the NFL. Furthermore, the contract has the potential to reach an astounding $104 million, thanks to various performance-based incentives.

The Cowboys were keen on securing a long-term extension with Diggs before the start of the new season, and they have successfully achieved their goal just before the commencement of training camp.

Trevon Diggs, who is only 24 years old, was drafted in the second round by Dallas in 2020, after an impressive collegiate career at Alabama.

Diggs’ performance on the field has been nothing short of outstanding. In the 2022 season, he showcased his prowess in all 17 games for the Cowboys, contributing with 59 tackles, three interceptions, a fumble recovery, and 14 pass defenses.

His standout performance came in the 2021 season, where he led the league with an astonishing 11 interceptions.

His exceptional abilities earned him the honor of being selected as first-team All-Pro and earned him a place in the Pro Bowl for both the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
