In a recent report by Forbes.com, it has been revealed that the Dallas Cowboys, the most valuable sports franchise in the world, have also emerged as the most profitable team by a significant margin.

Over the course of the past three years, the Dallas Cowboys have generated a staggering $1.17 billion in operating income, solidifying their position at the top of the list, according to Mike Ozanian.

Trailing far behind the Cowboys in second place is the New England Patriots, with a total operating income of $623 million.

Tottenham Hotspur, a prominent English Premier League team, secured the third spot with earnings of $414 million. The NBA’s New York Knicks at $404 million and Manchester United at $403 million complete the top five.

The next NFL team on the list are surprisingly the Houston Texans at number six, with $356 million.

It is worth noting that the income figures for NFL teams conclude with the 2021 season, while totals for baseball, basketball, hockey, and soccer include the year 2022. The calculation of operating income takes into account all earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization.

The dominance of American football is evident in the rankings, with 13 NFL teams claiming spots in the top 25. The remaining 12 positions are divided between the NBA, with seven teams, and the English Premier League, with four teams.

Looking ahead, with the implementation of the NFL’s new media rights contracts commencing this upcoming season, it is anticipated that the profitability gap between the top football teams and the rest will widen even further.

These lucrative contracts are expected to provide a significant boost to the financial success of the leading teams in the NFL, solidifying their status as the most profitable sports organizations in the world.
