Update:

The Cowboys fear Trevon Diggs tore his ACL, per the NFL Network.

Original Story:

Dallas Cowboys camp, star cornerback Trevon Diggs suffered an injury during an early morning practice session today

The incident occurred during a 1-on-1 period, as reported by Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News.

Diggs, a two-time Pro Bowler and one of the key players on the Cowboys‘ roster, is currently undergoing evaluation by the team’s medical staff.

Eyewitnesses noted that Diggs had to leave the facility on crutches, suggesting a potentially serious injury.

This unfortunate news comes at a bad time for the Cowboys, who are off to a strong 2-0 start in the 2023 NFL season.

Trevon Diggs had been a standout performer during his career, notably  leading the league in interceptions with an impressive 11 during the 2021 season.

Diggs earned a lucrative contract extension earlier this year, with a 5-year deal worth $97 million, including potential bonuses that could push the total value to $104 million.

With the Cowboys set to face the 0-2 Arizona Cardinals in Week 3 this Sunday, the absence of Diggs on the field might not be as significant, but if it’s a long-term injury, they’re in trouble.
