This is more of an attempted murder than a baseball brawl. Sweet mother of God.
The fracas took place last night during a Cuban baseball game between Villa Clara and Matazanas. Villa Clara hurler Freddy Alvarez clocked two Matazanas hitters after surrendering a home run in the seventh inning, which was enough to send Demis Valdez sprinting toward the mound with a baseball bat.
For everyone’s sake, his wild swing at Alvarez’s head came up empty.
Somehow the ensuing fight was broken up in less than two minutes, which is pretty shocking considering we’ve seen far less intense incidents linger for 10 minutes.
