Bleacher Report produced this profile on 17-year-old baseball player Lazaro Armenteros Jr. aka Lazarito who many say is the Cuban Bryce Harper with the speed of Willie Mays and power of Bo Jackson. He also has no chance of living up to that hype.

In the video, Lazarito says he wants to play like Albert Pujols, win like Derek Jeter, and be a legend like Roberto Clemente. See, that’s the one thing about this kid that might hamper his success. He just doesn’t have any ambition.

Here’s the video description from B/R:

“They call him the Cuban Bryce Harper, comparing his speed to Willie Mays and his power to Bo Jackson, but lofty comparisons aside, the Lazarito story is anything but easy.

Lazaro Armenteros Jr., better known by his nickname Lazarito, was a budding star in the Cuban baseball ranks.

He recently signed with the Oakland Athletics and is looking to turn heads in America soon.

Watch this rare, exclusive video of the Cuban star and hear from him directly about his journey to future stardom.”

Kinda weird to compare Lazarito to Bryce Harper when he bats right-handed and doesn’t have the haircut or a beard and is also Cuban and has probably never used the phrase “clown question”.

Is this the biggest hype job in all of sports? Moreso than Todd Marinovich or Tony Mandarich? Is it odd that I used two very similar-sounding names as examples? I mean, this kid isn’t even considered an adult yet and he has his own logo.
