Apparently not everyone was as thrilled with LaVar Ball and family’s appearance on WWE RAW as I, and Jeannie Buss, were. I thought it was entertaining as hell, even if the WWE did have to apologize for LaMelo dropping the N-word on a live audience.
However, I can see how the Ball family’s appearance in a WWE ring might rub some people the wrong way. LaVar does have a tendency to do that. And I can especially see his appearance not being appreciated by those who have worked their whole lives to get the chance to work in that same ring. People like Curtis Axel, for instance.
You see, Axel, real name Joe Hennig, is a third generation professional wrestler. His dad was the incomparable “Mr. Perfect” Curt Henning and his grandfather was wrestling legend Larry “The Axe” Hennig. So you can see how LaVar’s antics might get under someone like his skin.
Axel’s reaction to that? “Who the hell is this dumb ass??? Stay off our stage!”

Axel then made an appearance on “The Half-Assed Morning Show” in Minneapolis where he doubled down on his dislike of LaVar and his nutty family.
“They don’t need to be on TV. Get them off. It was embarrassing. Looking at that from my perspective, it was funny backstage looking at it, but that’s not something that…you know, this is my opinion. The kids watch this show. It’s a kid’s program, we took it down to PG-13 and made everything kid-friendly, right? And for someone to come on there and grab the microphone and go off and do something outlandish like this and you were told…I guarantee they were told not to do it—it’s embarrassing.”
Twitter, of course, as usual had very mixed reactions to Axel’s complaint…

I commend you Curtis for the statement on what a debacle this was! You know it's bad when the company is in damage control mode next day
