This NFL offseason, the Dallas Cowboys have made some big changes on the offensive side of the ball.

Ezekiel Elliott was released.

Dalton Schultz signed with the Texans.

They fired Kellen Moore.

The Cowboys also brought in some key players on offense.

The biggest move was their trade for Brandin Cooks, who represents a big upgrade as their #2 receiver.

However, they also made some interesting pickups in the draft.

In round 2 they took tight end Luke Schoonmaker, who could be their long-term answer to replacing Schultz.

However, it is their 6th round pick that has Dak Prescott excited right now.

While appearing on sports radio 96.7 FM, Dak revealed how excited he was when the Dallas Cowboys landed Deuce Vaughn that late in the draft.

“That was one that you do get excited about when you see that story,” Prescott said, via the Dallas Morning News. “Understanding going into it knowing who he was, knowing his dad, thinking how cool that would be if you could make that happen. I did pay attention enough that he was there in the [sixth] round or something, was like how is he still there? Seeing that, seeing that reaction, just knowing how great of a guy Chris, who is the father, is. I’m excited about Deuce being in there. I think he’s going to be a very talented player who can help us immediately.”

Vaughn will represent an interesting option in a very different backfield for the Dallas Cowboys in 2023.

Tony Pollard will be the team’s lead back, but Vaughn gives them options out of the backfield.

Despite being a smaller back at 5’6″, Vaughn racked up nearly 3000 yard on the ground over the last 2 seasons and scored 27 touchdowns.

He also showed off plenty of receiving ability out of the backfield during his time at Kansas State, with 116 catches for 1280 yards over his 3 seasons in college.

That receiving ability should help Deuce Vaughn make an impact quickly even after being a late draft pick and could give Dak Prescott another weapon to lean on in the passing game during the 2023 season.
