Dak Prescott Was So Bad Against The Packers That Even He’s No Longer Sure He’s ‘The Guy’ For Dallas

Even the biggest Cowboys haters in the world likely couldn’t have imagined the unmitigated disaster that unfolded in Dallas on Sunday in their wildest dreams.

Not only did Mike McCarthy, Dak Prescott, and the rest of the Cowboys fail to win a playoff game for yet another year, but they got absolutely embarrassed in front of their home crowd by the 7th-seeded Green Bay Packers, who were the last team to qualify for the playoffs.

While the final score was 48-32, the actual game was far more lopsided than that as the Packers were up 27-0 and 48-16 at various points in the game.

The loss was so brutal, in fact, that even Prescott “called his own job into question” when speaking to the media, per The Athletic.

“He’s been amazing. I don’t know how there can be (speculation) but I understand the business,” Prescott said of head coach Mike McCarthy and his job security.

In that case, there should be about me as well, honestly… I understand it’s about winning the Super Bowl. That’s the standard of the league and damn sure the standard of this place. I get it but add me to the list, in that case,” he told reporters.

Thanks to some late-game stat-padding, Prescott ultimately finished the game completing 41 of 60 passes for 403 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions, one of which was a back-breaking pick-six that virtually ended the contest.

Despite his disastrous performance against the Packers, McCarthy’s seat is much hotter than Prescott’s as it’s infinitely more difficult to find a relatively competent starting quarterback than it is to find a solid head coach.

Still, with minimal playoff success under his belt after multiple years at the helm, legitimately questions will be asked about Prescott’s future in Dallas now that he’s entering his 30s.

With their win over the Cowboys, Jordan Love and the Packers have advanced to the NFC Divisional Round, where they will take on the #1 seed San Francisco 49ers.
