There are very few Thanksgiving traditions like Dallas Cowboys football, and this year’s halftime performer is creating quite the buzz! An announcement was made internally over the weekend, but it is being kept under wraps and away from the public for a little while longer.

Halftime shows on the third Thursday of November in Texas have covered a wide range of genres. Since the tradition first began in 1997, it has been everyone from Reba McEntire, Toby Keith, Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, Luke Combs and Kenny Chesney to Destiny’s Child, Enrique Iglesias, Pitbull, Ellie Goulding, Meghan Trainor and the Jonas Brothers — twice.

Of course, no performance was better or more iconic than Creed in 2001!

All of this goes to say that it could be literally anyone. However, it is in Dallas’ best interest if they do not choose a country artist because the Cowboys are 4-11 when that is the case. On the flip side, they are 6-3 when a pop artist plays.

An official announcement on this year’s halftime performer is still a few weeks away, but the cheerleaders need to get prepared and practice the choreography. They found out on Sunday, and their reaction just about says it all. It sure seems like it will be someone cool!

Whomever it is that will take the stage on Turkey Day has something to do with sparkles or rhinestones or stars. Something like that. That’s all we know at this point, based on the team’s teaser.

Some early guesses include Post Malone and Dolly Parton. Posty has been very involved with the team in recent months. Dolly is known for diamonds and rhinestones.

Taylor Swift is another name that started to float around online, obviously, but that seems unlikely.

Who do you think will grace the stage on Thanksgiving Day and will he/she/they be able to top Creed?! Don’t worry, that’s a joke. Of course not. Creed’s legendary performance will live FOREVER!
