Dalvin Cook has yet to sign with a new NFL team a couple of weeks after he was released by the Minnesota Vikings.

While he still hasn’t signed, he has been dropping hints about which team could be next for him and has seemingly been focused on the AFC East.

He recently followed a couple of key members of the New York Jets on Twitter.

Later in the week, he revealed that he believes he would be a perfect fit for the Miami Dolphins’ run scheme.

Now he appears to have turned his attention toward another team in the division.

Yesterday, former NFL GM Michael Lombardi suggested that Cook could be a good fit for the New England Patriots during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show.”

The show’s Twitter account posted a video of that statement from Lombardi and Cook later retweeted it.

At this point, the Buffalo Bills are the only team in the division that Cook hasn’t shown some kind of interest in. That will likely remain the case as he would have to take his brother’s job to become the starting running back for the Bills.

The New England Patriots are actually probably the worst fit for Cook in the AFC East. Rhamondre Stevenson seemed to prove last year that he can carry load for the Pats as he ran for 1040 yards despite splitting carries with Damien Harris for stretches of the season.

Their issue is really depth after they released James Robinson. Dalvin Cook may have been released this offseason, but he definitely isn’t a depth running back.

Even with the hints at other teams, it still seems like this offseason will end with Dalvin Cook in a Miami Dolphins jersey.
