With DeAndre Hopkins joining the Tennessee Titans earlier this week, there is officially no bigger free agent out there in the NFL than Dalvin Cook.

Even in a down market for running backs, Cook is still getting quite a it of interest since he was released by the Vikings.

Now he’s starting to narrow down his list of teams he could potentially play for next season.

According to Fox Sport’ Henry McKenna, the New York Jets, New England Patriots, and Miami Dolphins are the 3 frontrunners to land Cook this offseason.

There are still some obstacles in the way of Cook actually signing somewhere sometime soon.

He is still facing a lawsuit that could cause some concern for teams considering signing him.

It also isn’t clear how much money he is looking for from whatever team ends up signing him or how long of a contract.

He has reportedly already received an offer from the Dolphins, but hasn’t signed with them yet.

There haven’t been details of that contract revealed, but football fans have seen what the running back market has looked like this offseason, so it may not have been for any longer than the 2023 season or all that lucrative for the Pro Bowl running back.

Whatever that offer actually was, the Miami Dolphins remain the best option for Cook. If he goes to Miami, he’d become their clear top option in the backfield.

In New England, he’d be splitting carries with Rhamondre Stevenson. In New York, he might not even be the best running back on his own team as Breece Hall looked like he was on his way to becoming one of the league’s best backs before he was injured last season.

Still, it looks like the Dolphins are going to continue to face competition for Dalvin Cook from within their own division.
