For the first time in his NFL career, Dalvin Cook hit free agency this offseason.

That new experience comes as a result of the surprising decision from the Minnesota Vikings to release him and turn their backfield over to Alexander Mattison.

He was released a little over a month ago and even though there was expected to be plenty of interest in the Pro Bowler, he still hasn’t found his next team.

For many, the situation would likely be a source of frustration, but it seems that isn’t the case for Cook.

He recently spoke with FOX 9 in Minnesota and revealed that the process has been fun.

“I think at every level, I made the right choice when I had the choice to go play ball. The process is fun, you embrace it,” Cook said. “If you don’t want to be wanted by people, then something’s wrong. As long as people want me, I’m good. I know I’m in the right spot. But going through this process has been fun. It’s been different every day, waking up with a different schedule. Just enjoying it. I think when it comes down to it, I just make the right decision. I’ve been doing it all my life.”

Even though he’s enjoying the process, it’s a process that probably shouldn’t drag on for much longer.

We’re less than a month away from the start of the pre-season and both Cook and any team interested in signing him will likely want him to spend a bit of time in the offense before the regular season starts.

He has an offer on the table from the Dolphins and has gotten interest from a couple of other teams.

At this point, it feels like we should be hearing about a Dalvin Cook signing sometime soon to bring an end to this fun process.
