Miami Dolphins legend Dan Marino likes what he sees from his Miami Dolphins. This week, Marino is teaming with MTN DEW to celebrate the return of 7-11’s Blue Shock Slurpee, which will be available for a limited time exclusively at 7-Eleven and Speedway locations throughout the holiday season.
We spoke with Marino courtest of MTN DEW and got his thoughts on the Dolphins season.
While the Dolphins need to win out the remaining games to make the postseason, Marino still feels solid about the Dolphins playoff chances despite a tough early start to the season following Tua’s injury.
“I always feel solid that we could get to the playoffs, and I felt like it hurt us a little bit early, that Tua was not healthy enough to play, and it showed. I think our team really stayed together and hung in there, and we have a shot to get in the playoffs. We pretty much got to win them all. Throughout the year, we’ve had a lot of struggles with injuries, but other than that, I think we’ve been playing pretty well lately.”
Marino, who is easily the greatest quarterback in Miami Dolphins history, told us what he likes about current Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa’s game.
“His work ethic, his accuracy, his competitiveness, leadership. All those things he has shown through his play when he first got here, and he’s been playing really well lately, and that’s awesome. It’s really. It’s good for our fans, and it’s good for him. It’s good for the team.”
Marino is also a big fan of Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel.
“The way he looks at offenses, the way he calls plays, the way they take advantage off the field, the opportunities you have. I know lately we haven’t really ran the ball the way, you know, everybody would like to, but he has been. He has been great for our football team. I really think so. And he’s been great for Tua”
In celebration of the return of the Blue Shock Slurpee, MTN DEW and 7-Eleven are taking the MTN DEW Blue Shock Slurpee Truck on tour across the country and will be in Miami December 19th through the 22nd and Dan will be at the truck at the Miami Dolphins game on Sunday, December 22nd from 2:00 – 3:30 pm.
