Dana White On Sean Strickland’s Meteoric Rise ‘Nobody Gave A Sh– About Him A Week Ago, Now He’s As Hot As Can Be’

Sean Strickland is receiving high praise from UFC President Dana White.

After defeating Israel Adesanya and winning the UFC middleweight title in Australia, Strickland’s profile has grown immensely.

A video of Strickland being named the winner has over 12 million views on Dana White’s Instagram account.

While in NY to promote the newly formed TKO group, White spoke to Youtuber Adam’s Apple about Strickland’s meteoric rise.

“Nobody gave a sh– about Strickland a week ago, and now he’s hot as can be,” “That’s the thing with this sport. First of all, in boxing, when a guy who’s a 7-to-1 underdog is fighting, he loses every time. The 7-to-1 dog loses every time. Not in [MMA]. Anything is possible in this sport. Last week Strickland, everybody was like, ‘Oh, this fight sucks. This is bulls–t.’ Now everybody’s swinging on him, you know what I mean, and he’s the man.”

While Strickland is currently one of the most popular fighters, he’s not letting the fame get to his head.
