WWE Confirms Every Fan’s Worst Fears About Daniel Bryan’s Injury Status

Ugh. I was really holding out hope he was just rehabbing slowly and…ugh.

Last night, at the Smackdown tapings, the WWE announced to the crowd in attendance that former WWE Champion Daniel Bryan will need another surgery on his injured neck. His return date is unknown.

According to fans in attendance, the Big Show made the announcement to the live crowd and then led everyone in a “Yes!” chant.

Fine. Great. Whatever. Here’s my question — why not ask Daniel Bryan to make the announcement? Roman Reigns is on WWE every week for a “doing good, thanks for asking” segment. They can’t get Daniel into an arena? Fly him out, put him up in a hotel, and give fans one last look at their hero just in case, oh I don’t know, he never wrestles again.

I’m not speaking out of turn here, I’m being realistic. Neck injuries are no joke. Peyton Manning had one neck surgery and he almost had to call it quits and he only gets hit one day a week. Daniel Bryan’s job calls for him to put his neck on the line, literally and figuratively, every night. There’s a strong chance he might never wrestle again.

I hope I’m wrong.
