D’Antre Robinson enrolled at the University of Florida in December. The Gators’ top NIL arm, Florida Victorious, is making sure that the four-star freshman is well compensated.

He signed with the collective earlier this month.

Not long after inking his new deal, Robinson flexed a stack of cash on his Instagram profile. The outermost bill looked like a $50, but the financial details of Florida Victorious contracts are not public knowledge so we don’t know exactly how much he is being paid.

Regardless of the exact amount, Robinson is making enough money through Name, Image and Likeness to surprise his mother with a new house in what seems to be his hometown of Orlando. It was a truly special Valentine’s Day for him and his family.

Robinson shared the emotional moment on YouTube.

His mom was in tears when he showed her the keys. She was in awe of his incredible gesture and could not contain her excitement upon first glimpse of the master suite.

Robinson’s surprise is everything great about Name, Image and Likeness. All of the people who claim that NIL is ruining college athletics have failed to see the lives it has changed.

Every little kid dreams of the day that he or she can give back to the people who raised him or her. Robinson was able to do so within the first six months at college. That’s truly incredible!

D’Antre Robinson got his mom a new house.

That’s all we know, and that’s all we need to know. But there are some underlying logistical questions for which there are no clear answers.

  • How much did it cost?
  • Was the house purchased outright or is it a lease?
  • Whose name is on the mortgage or lease agreement?
    • Is it D’Antre?
    • Is it in his mother’s name?
    • Did an NIL booster/donor purchase or rent the house for his mom so long as he is enrolled at the university?
  • Are there any taxes attached?
    • Who is on the hook for those taxes?

Regardless of the answers, Robinson — through Florida Victorious — took care of his people and that rules. He and his mom deserve all of the joy that they shared in the foyer. They worked hard for it!

In addition to whatever Robinson received in terms of actual finances, it appears as though he also received a car. The same Dodge Charger that was posted to his Instagram was also parked in the garage of his mom’s new crib.

The video also showed Robinson surprise his girlfriend Destiny with all kinds of gifts for the holiday of love. They included some new jewelry, and a pair of bags and shoes from Tory Burch.

Everything he got her (except the chocolate) isn’t cheap!! Florida Victorious is treating him nicely.

NIL money is very real!

Robinson, a four-star defensive tackle prospect in the college football recruiting Class of 2024, had 64 offers from programs all over the country. The U.S. Army All-American was in high demand.

Florida and Texas were the final two during his recruitment process. He actually signed with the Longhorns during the Early Singing Period!

However, not long after defensive line coach Bo Davis left for LSU, Robinson was released from his National Letter of Intent and signed with the Gators. Davis’ departure and being closer to “ma dukes” were the two biggest factors in his flip.

Florida has been my dream school and some unexpected things happened at Texas so I just wanted to be closer with my family. It will be way easier for my family to come see me play and anything else they would like to do. I’m a momma’s boy and I’ll admit, being closer to ma dukes feels great. My big sister lives in Texas so I would’ve had some form of family there if I was still going. I am a family’s boy and being in my state feels so much better and I am very proud and happy with the decision I have made.

Regardless of what Robinson may have been in line to receive in terms of NIL compensation in Austin, he is being taken care of in Gainesville! And he was then able to take care of his mom because of it. That’s awesome.
