Dave Chappelle doing standup at MSG
Dave Chappelle has found himself trending on social media over his latest comedy set.
This weekend. Chappelle headlined A show at New York’s famed Madison Square Garden.
During his set, Chappelle was recorded making a joke about Charlie Kirk’s murder, which was leaked online.
“I feel f—ed up saying this. It’s scary being a public speaker. And I mean look, ever since that guy Charlie Kirk got murdered … and I shouldn’t say this publicly, but I feel better.”
“I know I shouldn’t say that, but it’s just a feeling,” he continued.
“I didn’t ask to feel this way. I just be driving around like, ‘Why am I in such a good mood? Oh!’”

Chappelle, whose comedy has gotten edgier over the years, faced backlash from conservatives who were not happy with his joke.
I will never forget how fiercely Charlie defended Dave Chapelle at the height of cancel culture, both publicly and privately. It didn’t matter if they had the same political beliefs — it mattered that they were subject to the same protections under the First Amendment as fellow Americans.
Every day it becomes more obvious… *that’s* the difference between the culture of the Right & the Left.
One side is literally willing to lay down their life to continue fighting for *everyone’s* right to express themselves. The other laughs on their podcasts about digging up that young man’s grave to “do it again,” dresses up as his corpse for Halloween, threatens to kill any and all other conservatives who agree with him, and sneers with the demonic ghouls in their audience about his death as a form of “comedy.”
We are not the same.
Shame on you, Dave. This is so beyond disgusting.

When Dave Chappelle was attacked on stage, Charlie stood up for him.
After Charlie was murdered in an act of political violence himself, Chappelle is joking about it. https://t.co/6NcLT2t6h8

Even Elon Musk called out Chappelle over his joke.
