For a little over a decade, David Ortiz and Derek Jeter were bitter rivals in the MLB.

While the rivalry between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees was still at its height and pitchers were fighting bench coaches, Ortiz was one of the stars of the Red Sox while Jeter was the Yankee captain.

Now both have been retired for a while and it looks they’ll be joining forces in their next career.

Ortiz has been working as an analyst for FOX for a little while now.

Today, Jeter joined him on the FOX team as an analyst in the studio for the first time.

Even though their rivalry is well in the past, Ortiz couldn’t pass up on the chance to use Jeter’s first day as a chance for a little bit of trolling.

Ortiz had a gift ready for Jeter on the first day of his new job. When Jeter opened up the gift, it turned out that it was a Boston Red Sox jersey.

The Yankees and Red Sox were involved in some memorable clashes over the course of the careers of these two men.

The 2003 ALCS was one of the most heated series in the MLB over the last 20 years.

The 2004 ALCS saw the Red Sox make MLB history as they became the first team to ever come back from down 3-0 in the MLB on their way to breaking the “Curse of the Bambino”.

Unfortunately, I have a feeling that Red Sox jersey will be going to waste as Jeter won’t want to disappoint Yankees fans the way Ortiz disappointed the Red Sox mascot during the famous Sportscenter commercial where he tried on a Yankee hat.

It looks like having Derek Jeter and David Ortiz working together is going to be fun for the fans.
