Free-agent star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is set to visit the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

This could signal the beginning of a potentially exciting chapter for both Hopkins and the Titans.

What makes this visit particularly intriguing is the connection between Hopkins and Titans head coach Mike Vrabel. The two previously worked together during their time with the Houston Texans, with Vrabel serving as an assistant coach. Now, Vrabel’s team has the opportunity to host Hopkins for a visit, his first since his release from the Cardinals last month.

Hopkins’ departure from the Cardinals marks the end of a three-year stint with the team, where he established himself as one of the league’s premier pass-catchers. Known for his exceptional hands, route-running ability, and acrobatic catches, Hopkins consistently demonstrated his dominance on the field and garnered numerous accolades throughout his career.

Despite facing challenges during the 2022 season, including a suspension for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy and missing several games, Hopkins still showcased his value as a top-tier target. In just nine starts, he amassed impressive statistics, recording 64 receptions for 717 yards and three touchdowns, highlighting his exceptional skills and playmaking abilities.

The reunion between Hopkins and Vrabel in Tennessee wouldn’t be entirely unexpected, as former Houston Texans players have frequently joined Vrabel’s ranks in the past. However, other teams have also expressed interest in signing the veteran receiver.

The Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, Houston Texans, and Cleveland Browns have all been linked to Hopkins in recent speculation. As one of the most sought-after free agents on the market, Hopkins is taking his time in finding a new team after being cut by the Cardinals, who are currently in a rebuilding phase.

The Titans, who are in need of reinforcements in their receiving corps, could greatly benefit from adding a player of Hopkins’ caliber.

With their current wide receiver room lacking depth beyond Treylon Burks, the addition of Hopkins would provide a significant boost to the team’s offensive firepower. If Tennessee ultimately becomes his new home, Burks would transition from WR1 to WR2, forming a formidable tandem alongside Hopkins.

As Hopkins continues his visit with the Titans, fans and analysts eagerly await news of his decision. Regardless of where he lands, it is clear that any team that secures his services will be gaining a dynamic playmaker and a valuable asset in their quest for success.
