Deion Sanders claimed his second SWAC title in a row with Jackson State on Saturday with a 43-24 blowout victory over Southern.
Just about an hour or so after the game ended, Sanders met with his team and informed them that he was leaving to become the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes.
AD Rick George has named COACH PRIME @DeionSanders to be the 28th full-time head football coach at CU.

Sanders has openly flirted with the Buffaloes about the job in recent days after they reportedly made him a very lucrative offer. He also reportedly began to recruit both staff members and transfer portal players to Colorado before officially taking the job.
The man they call Prime Time now faces a tall task in Boulder. The Buffaloes went just 1-11 in 2022. They’ve not made a bowl game since 2016, their lone bowl appearance since joining the Pac-12 from the Big 12.
But college football fans, and the sports world as a whole, are excited to see what he can do.
I can’t wait to see this sleeping giant wake up. https://t.co/ULzBMCK0rz
