Deion Sanders continues to make big moves for the Colorado football program.

After putting together the nation’s best transfer class in his first offseason in charge of the Buffaloes, Sanders has now begun to put together a strong recruiting class for next year.

According to 247 Sports’ Steve Wiltfong, 3-star quarterback Danny O’Neil committed to Colorado yesterday.

I just think the people there really sold it for me. Obviously it’s a beautiful place and a lot of hype there with Coach Prime but being able to connect with Coach Prime and Coach Lewis really sold it for me and made it feel like home.

O’Neil pointed to offensive coordinator Sean Lewis’ success with Jimmy Garoppolo at Eastern Illinois as something that has him excited for this opportunity at Colorado.

I just think his offense is very explosive and it’s going to be something very fun to play in and I think the situation is a good one being able to compete after Shedeur (Sanders) leaves. He had Jimmy Garoppolo in his system a few years ago (at Eastern Illinois) and he passed for over 5,000 yards and led them to a conference championship, and it’s really exciting and I love the fit.

O’Neil is already the 5th signing for the Buffaloes in the Class of 2024. The recruiting class for Colorado ranks 16th in the country.

Ranked as the 29th quarterback in the class according to 247 Sports, O’Neil should have a strong chance to take over as the Buffaloes’ starting quarterback once Shedder Sanders has moved on.

Deion Sanders is wasting no time building up the Colorado football program.
