Deion Sanders mom found herself at the center of off-field trash talk last week thanks to comments made by Jay Norvell. The Colorado State head coach took a jab at Coach Prime alluding to issues with his upbringing.

Norvell’s comments gave immediate fuel to the CU football team, which they used to come from behind in a double overtime win. After the victory, Mrs. Connie gave her thoughts on the remarks.

Safe to say, she took it personally!

Before the Rocky Mountain Showdown between the Buffs and Rams, CSU’s head coach gave his opponent some bulletin board material. Norvell took a swipe at Deion Sanders and the way he approaches the media.

“When I talk to grown-ups, I take my hat and glasses off. That’s what my mother taught me,” he said days before the rivalry game.

Sanders fired back with a cryptic social media response, though he never called out Norvell directly.

That changed after Colorado escaped with a 43-35 double OT win on Saturday night. Coach Prime addressed the comments with his team in his locker room.

Deion Sanders then gave the floor to his mom, Mrs. Connie.

“I raised him right! I also told him to always be yourself. If you have to kick a–, KICK A–!”

And do that, they did.

After entering as a 24-point favorite, Colorado fell behind in a chippy game. Trailing by eight points on their final possession of regulation, quarterback Shedeur Sanders orchestrated a 98-yard scoring drive to tie things up.

After trading touchdowns in the opening overtime period, the Buffs found the endzone in Round 2 to come out victorious.

Colorado is now 3-0 on the year as they move into PAC 12 play. We’ll see if Oregon takes any pregame shots at Deion Sanders (or his mom) before Saturday’s matchup.
