Coach Prime has some dirt on opposing coaches, as well as a message for those downing him program – Keep his name out your mouth!

Deion Sanders sat down with RGIII to discuss the negative recruiting that’s occurred in his time at Colorado, going as far as to say he’s heard it firsthand.

Sanders claims to have had players bring him recordings of rival staff members, including head coaches, who have attempted to put down the Buffs in hopes of swaying a prospect’s college decision.

“I don’t allow our coaching staff to ever comment on another school,” Prime said. “You don’t have to put another school down to put us up… Our staff knows, the way you get fired is to let me hear you talk about another institution with a kid.

“Now… kids have recorded conversations with head coaches – not just assistants – head coaches, downing us and selling us out… I just politely call the head coach and say, ‘Look here, man. I don’t really know you. I wish the best for you, but be careful, because when these kids bring phones into your meetings, you’re exposed to certain things.”

Prime and Co. have found a way to make every game personal since his arrival to Boulder, and I’m sure they’ll find a way to turn these comments into motivation, too.

Whether the negative recruiting references Deion Sanders potentially hopping to a bigger job, his use of the transfer portal, or his 4-8 record from a season ago, it’s clear he’s not taking it lightly.

“Just keep my name out of your mouth.”

The full conversation with Robert Griffin III – who believes Sanders should get a call if when the Cowboys job opens up – can be heard below.

Prime dives into a number of things, including his first year as the Buffs’ head coach and Nick Saban’s recent retirement. Definitely worth the listen!
