University of Colorado’s head coach Deion Sanders had a lot to say on the Football Coaches Show this week. He spoke about how seeing a large amount of fights at CU football practice is actually a good sign and he also spoke about recruiting.

On the top of ‘croots, Deion Sanders discussed how he gets everything he needs on recruiting trips from the moms and how the fathers of recruits all say the same things.

Speaking about ‘killer instinct’ like ‘Michael Jordan (and) Kobe Bryant’, Deion Sanders said that cannot be created. He was adamant that the killer instinct “comes with you” and he knows “whether kids are a dog or a cat” by observing them. He also says that it’s important to recruit to that.

Coach Prime went on to explain how recruit’s mothers play a crucial role in recruiting. He said “it’s hard to identify the heart, it’s not hard to identify the dog because the dog shows up on film (and) the dog shows up in his history.”

Deion Sanders then added:

“Mama tells everything. On these recruiting trips, mama tells everything. The dad is going to be like ‘you know, my son is a killer.’ And mama looks over there like ‘you know that boy ain’t no killer.’ So I talk to the mothers most of the time. Because mama’s going to give you 100 (and) fathers (are) always going to laugh at their sons. Because the father wants the son to emulate them and the mama’s going to keep it real because she wants her son protected and she wants her baby to be who she wants her baby to be. So she’s going to tell you the truth.”

As for the spike in fights at Colorado football practice, BroBible‘s Grayson Weird wrote about that yesterday and you can read his thoughts by checking out that link in the first paragraph of this article.
