Deion Sanders Isn’t Giving Up His Retired Jersey Number For His Son At FSU

Shedeur Sanders still has three years before he’s eligible to play college ball but the high school sophomore is pretty stoked about already getting an offer from his father’s alma mater FSU.

Shedeur Sanders was getting a haircut when his famous father showed him a text message with exciting news.

“I am blessed to receive an offer from my dad’s alma mater Florida State University,” Sanders later wrote in a Twitter post.

“I just want to thank God, FSU and @realcoachtaggart, my coaches, teammates and the faculty at Trinity Christian. This is truly a blessing because this is where the legacy begun. Don’t think for one minute the hard work stops, I lose my passion, I forgo my purpose or I get distracted by people, places and things.

“I am built for this moment. It is in my bloodline.”

Deion wanted to let his son know that if he does indeed choose to play at FSU that he’s not going to allow his son to use his retired jersey number.

Deion Sanders was excited to share the news of his son getting a football scholarship offer from Florida State.

But he had one important message for him, too.

“Guess what,” Sanders said to his son. “No. 2 ain’t coming out of retirement. You have to be your own man!”

Shadeur has plenty of offers on the table to play at several schools, we’ll have to wait and see where he chooses to go in 2021.
