Deion Sanders’ sons Shilo and Shedeur both play for their father at Colorado, but that wasn’t an option when they both went through the initial recruiting process. Coach Prime did not become the head coach at Jackson State until after Shilo had committed in the Class of 2019 and Shedeur was only able to consider his dad’s program until the end of his junior season of high school.

Both Shilo, a three-star defensive back, and Shedeur, a three-star quarterback, had to explore other options throughout the majority or all of their college football recruitments. Among them was their current program’s in-state rival, Colorado State.

Mike Bobo was the head coach of the Rams in 2018 and the Sanders family had a relationship there. Shilo went to Fort Collins in December of that year on an official visit. He brought Shedeur with him.

Although neither Sanders brother ended up at Colorado State, the visit warranted multiple posts from their dad. Coach Prime, who at the time was coaching Shilo and Shedeur’s high school in Texas, shared photos from the trip out West.

Another photo shows Bobo wearing Shedeur’s clothes while the Sanders brothers wore a Colorado State uniform. Things have changed a lot since December 15, 2018!

Now both Sanders brothers are playing for their dad in Boulder.

They will face the Rams for the first and only time together this weekend. When asked about his sons’ 2018 visit earlier this week, Coach Prime told a funny story from that trip and why it turned sour.

He said that Shedeur and Shilo had a great time, but that they got into an argument that night. If their dad remembers correctly, his sons were fighting because one of them brought a girl back to the hotel room and the other wouldn’t leave.

Coach Prime put their business on front street!

In the end, neither Shilo nor Shedeur landed at Colorado State.

Bobo was ultimately fired in 2019. Shilo only visited Colorado State and South Carolina. He eventually chose to play for the Gamecocks. Shedeur committed to Jackson State. They both transferred to Colorado during the offseason.
