Regardless of whether you love Deion Sanders or hate Deion Sanders, it is impossible to knock his character when it comes to family. He consistently proves to be a fantastic father, even to his players that aren’t blood.

The most recent example occurred after a controversial targeting call on Saturday against UCLA.

Shilo Sanders, Coach Prime’s star safety and second-oldest son, laid a big hit on Bruins running back Carsen Ryan and proceeded to flex toward the Bruins’ sideline. As he did, a flag came flying in.

Upon further review, Shilo was called for targeting and was ejected. There was a lot of disagreement over the call. Some people thought that it was textbook targeting.

Rob Gronkowski and Richard Sherman disagreed.

As did RGIII.

Right call or not, Shilo was thrown out of the game and will serve a suspension during the first half of this upcoming week’s game between Colorado and Oregon State. His absence is a big loss.

Although Shilo was allowed to stay on the sideline, he took the opportunity to change into street clothes at halftime. And then, as the Buffaloes returned to the field for the start of the third quarter, he and his father shared a powerful moment.

Coach Prime walked up to Shilo, grabbed him around the neck and told him that he is proud of him. While the bright lights flashed around them and music boomed over the stadium speakers, none of that mattered right then and there. It was a bond between father and son that cannot be broken.

The Sanders family has a lot of haters out there. They are a flashy bunch.

But at the end of the day, no matter what you think of them, the Sanders family doesn’t care. They have each other and they know that is enough.
