Well, it’s official. Derek Jeter has taken over the reigns as the new owner and CEO of the Miami Marlins.
How do we know this? Because the Marlins and Major League Baseball both tweeted photos of Jeter’s big day in his fancy new office.
Yes, Jeter did, in fact write a letter to Marlins fans. In it he said…
Today is the first day of a new era for Marlins baseball. On behalf of the new ownership group, I want to tell you about our vision for the future.
I’ve never been big on making predictions. I’ve always had a “no excuses” mentality in everything I do, and I believe hard work and discipline are rewarded over time. So I won’t make any predictions, but I will make a few promises.
Those promises include developing a winning culture, celebrating the culture and diversity of the community, and uh, he believe in the Marlins’ organization. Not really a promise, that last one. More like a statement.
Oh well, doesn’t matter. What matters is the plethora of comedy that Twitter has blessed us with in reaction to the photos of Jetes going to work.
