Hours after suffering a devastating knee injury at Madison Square Garden last year, former Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis came home and allegedly raped a neighbor he had invited to his luxury Manhattan penthouse, the woman told police, according to law-enforcement sources.
The woman made her stunning allegation against the 23-year-old player on Thursday afternoon — and investigators consider her credible, one high-ranking NYPD source told The Post.
The police believe the accuser is credible enough to warrant an investigation despite the fact she tried to negotiate a $68k settlement with Porizingis.
The accuser is “believable,” the source said, even though she did not report the alleged attack until more than a year later and has admitted to cops that she discussed getting $68,000 in hush money from the multimillionaire basketballer.
TMZ spoke with the NYPD and released disturbing details regarding the rape allegation.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … the alleged victim told cops Porzingis pinned her down on a bed in his guest room, penetrated her vagina with his penis and then got violent.
The woman told cops he hit her in the face several times, spit on her, called her “my bitch” and “my slave” and said he owned her. We’re told the accuser claims he stopped assaulting her as she was putting up a fight.
Porzingis’ lawyer has gone on the offense since the allegations went public and is claiming that his client is being extorted by his accuser.
