Lions fans took over yet another NFL stadium on Sunday as their beloved team traveled south to Florida. It has been a long time since Detroit has been relevant and its fanbase is relishing in every opportunity to support an organization with renewed life.
After beginning the year with wins over the Chiefs and Falcons, and an overtime loss to the Seahawks, the Lions rolled into Lambeau Field at 2-1 for Thursday Night Football in Week 4. They brought the entire city with them, which ultimately forced the Green Bay Packers to issue a statement about the BOOMING pro-Detroit chants inside of their own stadium during a 14-point loss.
At 4-1, the Lions visited Tampa Bay for a matchup against the Buccaneers at Raymond-James Stadium earlier this week. Their fanbase, once again, took the trip with them.
Planes from Michigan to the Big Guava were completely packed on Friday and Saturday as Detroit fans flew in for they game. They were loud, proud and ready to go.

As kickoff rolled around, reports from inside the stadium indicated a 50% takeover, at least.

Others said that they had been hearing “let’s go Lions” chants from the moment that they got in line to get into the stadium. It was a sea of blue, with very little red or creamsicle.
Fans rocking blue and silver covered much of the lower bowl while the game crept closer to getting underway. They were everywhere. It was a total invasion!
With about 30 minutes until kickoff, there were more visiting fans in the stands than those rooting for the home team. A “blue wave” might even be understated. The game might as well have been played at Ford Field with the massive amount of Detroit fans in attendance.

Lions fans are so glad to have a team worth rooting for. They are quickly proving to be one of the most rabid fanbases in the league, after many, many years of dormancy.
