The WNBA arguably produces better storylines than any sports league in the USA. Many of them center around rookie sensation, Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark.

On Wednesday, this trend continued. After Caitlin Clark was captured shoving and talking trash to an opponent, Connecticut Sun guard DiJonai Carrington claimed that she had been treated unfairly when comparing the social media response to her dissing Clark earlier in the season and Clark’s reaction today.

First, some background information. Back in June, Carrington mocked Caitlin Clark after she felt that the Iowa alum had flopped for a foul call. Take a look.

Probably a little over the top from Dijonai Carrington, but we see that kind of stuff in sports all the time. Sadly, social media ran with it, calling her all sorts of names and prompting crazy takes like Stephen A. Smith linking Caitlin Clark and her fans with Donald Trump.

If you look hard enough on social media, you can find some pretty ugly things that were said about her.

Flash forward to Wednesday, as the Fever took on the Washington Mystics in a matinée game. Clark was incredible, scoring 29 points to go along with 13 assists, 5 rebounds, and 5 steals despite a Fever loss. But, the clip that is making the rounds has nothing to do with her stellar performance. Take a look.

Caitlin Clark is definitely getting a little feisty there. But, again, that’s nothing new for high-level sports and no reason for anyone to freak out.

But, in a profanity-laced tweet that you can see here, DiJonai Carrington points out that people are not saying the same kind of things about Caitlin Clark that they were saying about her.

At the end of the day, people shouldn’t react strongly to either incident. They’re both elite athletes competing hard.
