Aug 23, 2026; Chicago, Illinois, USA; Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark (22) looks to pass the ball in bounds against Chicago Sky guard-forward DiJonai Carrington (7) during the first half at Wintrust Arena.

Chicago Sky guard DiJonai Carrington has never been one to hold back when she has something to say. But she may well want to rethink that approach following Sunday’s loss to the Indiana Fever.

Carrington, who was ejected from a game against the Fever earlier this month for a hard foul on Sophie Cunningham, later citing “white privilege” as the reasoning, took to social media after the incident and posted on X, saying “8/23.”

That date represented the next time that the Sky and Fever were set to play against one another, with Carrington obviously having it circled on her calendar.

As it turns out, she probably should’ve just kept that thought to herself.

DiJonai Carrington Got Lit Up By The Indiana Fever

Not only did the Fever win Sunday’s game in resounding fashion, 113-90, but Carrington got absolutely cooked in the process.

Indiana superstar Caitlin Clark had a career night, scoring 37 points and adding 10 assists. Kelsey Mitchell also scored 30 points for the Fever, and Chicago was eliminated from the playoffs with the loss. Meanwhile, Carrington had just seven points on 3-of-11 shooting.

Unsurprisingly, fans were quick to mock Carrington over the situation.

Waited 2 weeks to get 37 and 10 on your head while you put up 7 points,” one fan joked.

She accurately predicted the date she would be eliminated from the playoffs,” said another.

Ultimately, it’s just one bad game for Carrington. However, it comes at the worst possible time from a reputation standpoint, especially after she went out on a limb to play up the importance of the game.

Perhaps next time she’ll think twice before posting on social media.
