The Clemson Tigers suffered a second defeat in 2023 on Saturday, falling to ACC rival Florida State in overtime. The loss might just knock the program out of conference title contention as they now find themselves at 0-2 in league play.

Many in Death Valley were disappointed in the end result as Clemson outplayed the Seminoles in many facets of the game. One particular fan is now trending after being spotted in Mike Norvell’s postgame interview.

The Tigers led the fourth-ranked ‘Noles for a large portion of the action, jumping out to a 10-0 first half lead. FSU wouldn’t go away, though, eventually evening things up on a scoop ‘n score late in the third quarter.

Overtime would be needed to decide this one, and Florida State would be the team to execute in the extra period. Keon Coleman hauled in a 24-yard touchdown reception to give the Seminoles a lead before the defense forced a turnover on downs to end the game.

For Clemson, many of the same issues arose in the loss. Much like the season opener against Duke, play calling and costly turnovers were at fault. Against the Blue Devils, three fumbles in the redzone kept the Tigers from putting points on the board.

In their most recent matchup, a scoop ‘n score led to Florida State’s only touchdown of the second half.

There were times where Clemson could’ve seemingly put the game away given how well its defense was playing. The Tigers held FSU to just 311 total yards, and just 22 yards on the ground.

The offense couldn’t deliver the knockout punch, though, leaving the door ever-so-slightly open for the ‘Noles.

Clemson has now lost four of their last five games to Power 5 foes with many blaming Dabo Swinney’s hard-headedness for the lack of success. His unwillingness to adapt to the new world of NIL and the transfer portal have been his downfall.

On the other end of the spectrum, FSU’s Mike Norvell has welcomed the transfer portal era resulting in many of his top contributors being newcomers.

After the game, the Florida State head coach celebrated the win with his players on the field. During his postgame interview, a disappointed Clemson fan made a not-so-surprising appearance.

Larry Williams of Tiger Illustrated pointed out the fan, who has found his way onto the camera in each of Clemson’s last three home losses.

The Tigers have only lost three times in Death Valley since 2016. This fan has not only been at each of those contests, but he’s positioned himself front and center to allow the college football nation to see his disappointment after those defeats.

He’s somehow found his way to the cameras during each of the opposing team’s postgame interviews, just shaking his head to those watching along.

Fans couldn’t help but laugh at the hilarious revelation. Check out a few of the responses in the comments section below.

“How does he manage to be so perfectly centered in each shot?”

“2021 and 2022 appear to have aged this man considerably.”

“That’s dedication.”

Luckily for the fan, he hasn’t had to watch the Tigers lose at home all that much over the last few seasons. Unfortunately, though, the recent losses are starting to pile up. After having a 40-game home winning streak snapped by South Carolina last year, Clemson has now lost two of its last four games at Memorial Stadium.

We’ll see if he continues to make these camera appearances in the future. Clemson will host Wake Forest, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, and North Carolina over the next two months, so there’s certainly a chance for another home loss this season.
