Miami Dolphins’ rookie sensation, running back De’Von Achane, faces a setback as he’s expected to miss multiple weeks due to a knee injury, according to NFL insiders Tom Pelissero and Rap Sheet.

Though not likely season-ending, this injury deals a significant blow to one of the season’s standout playmakers.

Miami’s upcoming schedule includes games against Carolina, Philadelphia, New England, and Kansas City before their bye week. If the team decides to place Achane on injured reserve, he’ll have approximately six weeks to recover.

Achane’s rise in the NFL has been remarkable. In the past three games, he scored seven touchdowns and maintained an astounding 12.1-yard average per rushing attempt, something nobody should be able to do at the pro level.

Despite his diminutive stature at 5’8 and 188 pounds, his blazing speed which was clocked at 4.32 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the NFL scouting combine, sets him apart from other running backs who lack that breakaway speed.

Achane’s impact has gone above any expectations as he gained 460 rushing yards on just 38 carries, a statistic that defies conventional norms. Additionally, he contributed 67 receiving yards, including a couple of touchdown receptions.

The Dolphins remain hopeful that Achane’s injury won’t sideline him for an extended period. Meanwhile guys like Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson should carry the load.
