Despite being one of the most famous celebrities on earth, superstar rapper Drake has always been immensely corny.

Whether it’s his ever-changing sports fandom, or his cringy ‘Hotline Bling’ dance moves, the Toronto native is almost always bringing the cringe.

But to his credit, Drake has always been self-aware enough to lean into it. And he did just that when his tour with J. Cole stopped in Lexington, Kentucky.

He went viral on Instagram on Sunday when he recreated his iconic “Blud thinks he’s on the team” meme.

The original photo is from 2014 and features Drake sitting in the Kentucky locker room in full warmup gear alongside the Wildcats basketball team.

It was taken prior to the annual Big Blue Madness event where the rapper joined the team for shootaround (airballing a 3-pointer in hilarious fashion) and even gave a speech to fans.

“I was here a long time ago,” he said at the time. “I think it was 2009 when Coach first brought me out here. It was one of the best experiences of my life. This family right here, you’re a special, special group. The energy of Lexington really comes from each and every one of you that fill this building every night. Make some noise for yourself. This is truly incredible.

“I told Coach (Cal) that I wanted to come back, and he made it possible for me to be here, so I appreciate you accepting me again, one more time. You know, people ask me, ‘There are so many madnesses going on and so many different events, why don’t you go anywhere else?’ And I tell them, ‘I’m a Wildcat through and through. And there’s only one Big Blue.'”

The Wildcats have not won a national championship since that point. In fact, they haven’t even come close. But it appears Drake’s loyalty to the ‘Cats still rings true.
