Draymond Green was back at it again on Tuesday night as he was ejected from the Warriors vs. Suns matchup after he basically punched Phoenix center Jusuf Nurkić in the face, resulting in a Flagrant 2 foul and a subsequent ejection.

This incident didn’t just highlight the dirty side of Green’s game, though, but also the delusional side of his personality, as he had the audacity to tell reporters after the game that he “didn’t intend” to hit Nurkić, as if there weren’t thousands of people and multiple cameras watching him do exactly that.

“He was pulling my hip and I was swinging away to sell the call. Made contact with him. As you know, I’m not one to apologize for things that I meant to do, but I do apologize to Jusuf because I didn’t intend to hit him,” Green said.

According to some brief body language research, pulling on/massaging your earlobe — as Green does when he says “I was swinging away to sell the call, made contact with him” — is a “self-soothing gesture” that people use when they are feeling stressed, indecisive, or nervous, which, of course, common ingredients in a lie.

The likely reason that the 33-year-old Green is that the Warriors are worse than usual this year, as they currently sit at 10-13, which puts them 11th in the Western Conference.

While Steph Curry has played like his usual self, Dramond and fellow future Hall of Famer Klay Thompson just look old, and Chris Paul has been in and out of the lineup. Other than that, the organization has failed to properly rebuild around them.

None of that excuses Draymond’s actions, but it does perhaps explain why he’s been more villainous than usual this year.

Green has already been suspended once this season, as he was sidelined for five games due to his involvement in a fight with Rudy Gobert (whom he choked out) and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
