By most accounts, the Los Angeles Lakers should be pretty good at basketball, but that has decidedly not been the case this season.

While the team has had to grapple with the injuries that have kept Anthony Davis sidelined for a solid chunk of their current campaign, you’d think they’d still be able to salvage things thanks to the talents of Russell Westbrook and LeBron James. Unfortunately, things simply haven’t clicked for a squad that currently boasts a 27-34 record and is sitting in the ninth spot in the Western Conference.

Things took a particularly bad turn for the worse when Los Angeles got annihilated by the Pelicans on Sunday night, as Lakers fans were not shy about voicing their displeasure with the ugly performance and James couldn’t stop himself from firing back at some of the most vocal critics in the stands.

It’s hard to blame the franchise’s supporters for expecting more from a team that seems like it should be delivering much more on paper, but its players have found one fairly unlikely ally in the form of Draymond Green.

On a recent episode of The Draymond Green Show, the Golden State Warriors star addressed the Lakers’ recent skid and felt the need to call out the fans who showered them with boos during the showdown against New Orleans.

Here’s what he had to say via Sports Illustrated:

“I thought it was extremely pathetic, and I thought it was very distasteful from a fanbase of an organization that has the most championships in the NBA.

Let’s not be like spoiled brats. It’s okay to be spoiled. You can 100% be spoiled. We all get spoiled by things at times at one point in our life or another, but let’s not be brats. That was about as bratty as something I’ve seen. Considering that this team just won a championship not even a full two years ago. And now you’re booing? I thought it was utterly ridiculous.”

At least LeBron and Co. can rest a bit easier knowing they have someone in their corner.
