Draymond Green is staring down what looks like an almost certain second consecutive NBA title with his Golden State Warriors teammates, and for a player like him, it has to be the ultimate comeuppance story.
The MSU man that led the Spartans to two Final Four appearances saw his draft stock disappointingly fall in 2012 – originally projected as a first round talent, Green ultimately fell to the second round where Golden State selected him 35th overall. Talk about a value pick, eh?
Now, playing on a team that made history this year, and looks locked and loaded for the future too, the 2× NBA All-Defensive First Team member is getting the last laugh. So much so, that he’s memorized the names of ALL 34 players drafted ahead of him in 2012.
Damn. I guess you can say “I told you so!”
Without a doubt, a lot of talent taken before Green, but none that can lay claim to the accolades racked up by the former Spartan that has been a key part of arguably the most dominant team in NBA history.
Can’t say the NBA All-Star hasn’t put in the work to achieve it all.
