Draymond Green Proves Yet Again That He’s Never Going To Get It With Comments On Jordan Poole

Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green is back on his podcast talking about former teammate Jordan Poole, who he punched in the face in a move that seemingly signified the beginning of the Warriors’ downfall. Green’s latest comments came after Poole said Saturday he loves “most of those guys over there” in reference to Golden State.

Of course, Green is likely not included among “most of those guys for good reason.”

“I responded because it’s been three years,” Green said Wednesday on “The Draymond Green Show with Baron Davis.” “Like, let’s move on. We’ve moved on. I really am sorry. That statement [by Poole] was kind of like it was looking for some sympathy … kind of keep wanting to make me out to be the bad guy. Move on, bro. It is what it is.

“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have punched him. But it happened. Let’s move on.”

Now, to some extent Green has a point. Poole is long gone. He’s now in his second season in Washington and he’s shown time and again that winning really isn’t much of priority. But herein lies the issue. Draymond Green is very likely the pettiest person in the NBA today. If anybody needs to learn to move on from things, it’s Draymond Green.

Take, for example, Green’s longstanding feud with Minnesota Timberwolves center Draymond Green. Green has not moved on from that for several seasons. So why should Poole be expected to move on from a former teammate who literally punched him in the face? It’s a ridiculous double standard.

But that’s nothing new for Draymond Green. Introspection and self-awareness aren’t really his cup of tea. He proved as much last season with his comments about how the Warriors had improved their team chemistry. If Green hasn’t gotten it by now, he’s just never going to. And we just have to live with the fact that this is the way he is.
