Draymond Green Shows Hilarious Lack Of Self-Awareness With Team Chemistry Comment

Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green would be well served to listen to the Taylor Swift hit single “Anti-Hero.”

You know, the one that goes “It’s me. Hi. I’m the problem. It’s me.”

Because Green’s recent comment about the Warriors lack of team chemistry in the 2022-23 NBA season shows an absolutely stunning lack of self-awareness.

“Last year we had an awful team as far as chemistry goes — pathetic,” Green said after Golden State’s 102-101 win over the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday night. ” You look at last year and say, ‘Ah man, this team hasn’t lost a Western Conference series under Steve Kerr.’ And then it happens. The big reason why is our chemistry sucked.

“…Last year was horse s—. It was hard to come to work…Not fun, you know?”

The Warriors lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference semifinals last season.

This year, Golden State is off to a 4-1 start and sits second in the early Western Conference.

While it’s entirely likely that the Warriors had terrible team chemistry a year ago, let’s dive into why that may have been the case.

Could it be because Green KNOCKED OUT TEAMMATE JORDAN POOLE before the season even began.

Could that be it? Hmmmmm?

Doesn’t seem great for the ol’ team chemistry, huh Draymond?

The Dubs since dealt Poole to the Washington Wizards where he’s chucking up shots left and right on one of the league’s worst teams.

Golden State, meanwhile, looks like it’s back to its spot as one of the league’s best teams.

“This year, you see the joy on guys’ faces when they come in the building,” Green said of the difference. “You got guys staying over two or three hours after, just sitting around talking, getting here two or three hours early just to be here. You start to see that and be like, OK, this is a group that likes being together.”

Amazing what happens when you’re not punching teammates in the face.
