The NBA free agency window opens up on Friday, June 30, and it should be a doozy.

One key veteran everyone is keeping an eye on is Draymond Green, as he recently opted out of his player option with the Golden State Warriors.

Many have pondered what his next career move might be and it sounds like we might know the answer to that question sooner, rather than later.

According to Marc Stein, there is a “strong confidence” that Green will end up re-signing to Golden State on a new multi-year contract.

Draymond Green is set to be a free agent for the first time of his career, but this report makes it sound like he’ll be returning to the Warriors soon enough.

There are no details about the rumored contract. However, if this report is true, then we will know more information about it by Friday at the earliest.

Having said that, it makes sense why Golden State wants Green to return. He’s been a key player for this franchise throughout his career. Additionally, his defense and facilitating really helps the Warriors on both ends of the floor.

On the other hand, Green is currently 33-years old and showed some decline in his game last season. A multi-year contract likely means he’d finish up his career in Golden State.

It’s not terrible news, but there is certainly some risk in a decision like this.

NBA fans weren’t sure how to take this news. Some fans think it’s a bad choice for the Warriors, while other believe keeping Draymond Green is the best move the team could make.

Other fans are perfectly okay with Green staying in Golden State.

You can never rule out the Warriors.

It really might play out like that.

We’ll see how it plays out. There is still a chance that Green fields some offers from other organizations once the free agency window hits.

But, it’s easy to see him re-signing with the Warriors as well. Make sure to keep the notifications on when Friday rolls around, as NBA news should be pouring in that day.
