Dre Kirkpatrick, Jr. shared a cryptic post after being dismissed by Alabama.

Dre Kirkpatrick, Jr. was dismissed from the Alabama football team in October following an arrest. The defensive back has now provided a cryptic update surrounding his future.

He does not appear to be giving up on c0llege football. He posted a series of recruiting photos on TikTok hinting at a change of scenery.

Will he wind up in the SEC as a rival to his former school?

Dre Kirkpatrick, Jr. was booted.

The 20-year-old junior was arrested on charges of doxxing and making harassing communications after allegedly targeting a police officer who arrested him last year. Late last month, it was announced that he’s no longer a member of the Alabama football team.

According to court documents obtained by WBRC, Dre Kirkpatrick, Jr. allegedly sent the officer a profanity-filled Facebook message before posting a photograph of the officer, his wife and their two children on social media. The caption accompanying the family photo reportedly read, “Dis him?”

Kirkpatrick is a Crimson Tide legacy. His dad played in Tuscaloosa from 2009-2011, winning two national titles before becoming a first-round NFL Draft pick.

Kirkpatrick, Jr. opted to follow in his father’s footsteps. He signed with Alabama in 2023 and enrolled in January of 2024. His time on campus came to an end before the conclusion of his third season.

The defender was a three-star prospect in his recruiting cycle. He held numerous high-profile offers before committing to the Tide.

This week, he teased a few of his past visits to SEC campuses on social media with a caption that read, “What now Dre?” Is he providing an update on his future?

In the photos, he flashed visits to Georgia, Missouri, and Tennessee. Most believe it’s a signal of his intent to enter the transfer portal.

The post does little to provide clarity on the situation. We do not know if SEC schools would be open to bringing him in given his checkered past at Alabama.

Dre Kirkpatrick, Jr. was arrested twice while in Tuscaloosa. Is his talent enough to overlook the red flags?

Time will tell. Clearly, Kirkpatrick still has football on his mind. It seems likely that he’ll be able to continue his career somewhere, though it ultimately may not be in the SEC.
