The Philadelphia Eagles were handed their third straight loss on Monday night as they fell to the Seattle Seahawks by a score of 20-17.

While the Seahawks are a well-coached and talented team, they were still being quarterbacked by their backup signal-caller Drew Lock, which makes the Eagles’ defeat even more eye-opening.

To be fair to the 27-year-old Lock, a former 2nd-round pick of the Denver Broncos in 2019, he played a solid game that included a game-winning 2-minute drill drive in the 4th quarter. Lock ultimately completed 22 of 33 pass/es for 208 yards and a touchdown.

Following the win, which improved the Seahawks’ record to 7-7 and kept them alive in the NFC playoff race, Lock was understandably quite hyped as he was seen quoting Antonio Brown’s song “Put That S— On” and smack-talking Jalen Hurts, who he could not track down for a postgame handshake.

Thanks to their win over the Eagles, the Seahawks are the #8 seed in the NFC, which is one spot out of the 7th and final playoff slot, currently occupied by the 7-7 Los Angeles Rams.

With three games left to play this season, the Seahawks have an extremely manageable schedule as they will face off against the Tennessee Titans, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Arizona Cardinals  — none of which will be playoff teams this year.

The New Orleans Saints also have a 7-7 record and will actually be facing off against the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday in what could prove to be a pseudo-playoff game.

Another boost for the Seahawks will be the return of starting quarterback Geno Smith, who was active last night after missing the team’s prior game against the San Francisco 49ers.

As for the Eagles, the loss to the Seahawks dropped their record to 10-4 and saw them cede control of the NFC East to the Dallas Cowboys.
