It took some time, but it appears that Drew Lock and Tom Herman have made amends. The two former college football foes were seen reuniting in Florida over the weekend.

A bit of animosity built up between the passer and coach during a matchup between the Missouri Tigers and Texas Longhorns. Now, those feelings have been brushed aside, and dare I say, a friendship has been born?

Tom Herman made headlines in a 2017 meeting between Texas and Mizzou. That was Herman’s first year as the program’s head coach, a job he’d accepted following a successful tenure at Houston.

In Year 1, he led the Longhorns to a six-win regular season which landed them a Texas Bowl matchup against the Tigers.

Herman and Co. would wind up winning that game, 33-16. While Missouri’s talented QB threw for 270 yards, it wasn’t enough. A moment from the contest would go viral, and it had everything to do with Tom Herman making fun of Drew Lock on the sidelines.

Let’s start at the beginning of the second half.

Lock tossed an 80-yard touchdown pass on the first play after the halftime break, then quickly reveled in the moment with his patented “backpack” celebration.

Herman apparently took offense, and after the team’s win, he made a mockery of the cellie on the sidelines.

Fast forward to 2023, and it seems that the two are finally letting bygones be bygones.

Drew Lock was spotted hanging out in Florida with Tom Herman, who’s now coaching at Florida Atlantic. Lock posed for a picture with his former archenemy, updating followers on the status of their relationship.

Lock was apparently training in the Sunshine State, and he dropped by the FAU campus to take in spring practice. What a moment.

It’s 2023 and this infamous beef is now squashed. Anything is possible.
