NBA free agency season doesn’t start until Friday but it seems like Dwyane Wade is already playing hardball with the Miami Heat.
According to report from ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, Wade has made it clear that he is willing to take offers from other teams after negotiations with the Heat reached an impasse.
wyane Wade’s initial contract discussions with the Miami Heat have not produced a common ground between the parties, and he is preparing to field outside offers when free agency opens Friday, according to league sources.
Sources told ESPN.com that Wade’s representatives have made it known to multiple teams over the last several days that he will be on the market.
It is worth noting that Wade took a similar approach last season only to sign a one-year deal with the Heat. I wouldn’t expect the Heat to enter serious negotiations with Wade until after Durant and Whiteside decide where they’re going. I also doubt Wade will ever leave Miami but maybe he’s tempted to join LeBron in Cleveland. Who knows.
