On Monday, five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola went through with his much-anticipated flip from Georgia to Nebraska. It’s the way he announced it that has people’s attention.

Raiola announced his flip on his social media Monday evening

Yes, one of the nation’s top-ranked recruits announced his flipped commitment and announced it with a poem. Not a famous poem by an accomplished poet or anything, but a poem about himself.

Announcing your flipped commitment, which is the third different school he’s been committed to in the process, with a poem about yourself show an incredible lack of self-awareness. Who gave this the green light that doing this would be okay and would be well-received? Was someone pulling a prank on Dylan Raiola? Did he lose a bet? There’s no way people actually thought this was a good idea.

There’s no way of knowing this, but who wrote this poem? It reads like ChatGPT may have wrote it, and putting it into a program that gives a likelihood of the test being AI-generated gives it over an 80% likelihood of it being AI-generated. That being said, he could’ve written it himself.

Raiola spent much of this recruiting cycle ranked as the top-overall player in the country by many recruiting services. His stock has slipped since, but he’s still a five-star by most services.

The son of longtime NFL offensive lineman Dominic Raiola and nephew of Nebraska offensive line coach Donovan Raiola has played for three different high schools in three different states in his high school career, and most recently played his senior season at Buford, one of the best programs in Georgia.
