Dylan Raiola’s Pants Do Not Match Nebraska Teammates

Dylan Raiola did not play particularly well as Nebraska lost to Minnesota on Friday night but he does not deserve blame for the struggles. The true sophomore signal-caller was sacked eight times, making him the most sacked quarterback in college football so far this year.

However, I am only here to discuss his pants.

Raiola wears pants with stripes that do not match the rest of his teammates. It appears as though he wears the pants from last college football season, not this current season.

Dylan Raiola did his best.

I’ll be honest. I did not watch a lot of the Cornhuskers during the first few weeks of the year. I caught only a few minutes of their game against the Wolverines but I saw highlights of most everything else.

Thus, Friday night was the first time all year that I sat down and gave my full attention to Nebraska. Admittedly, it felt like a bad spot so I was on Minnesota with the points but that is neither here nor there.

As soon as I flipped over to Fox for the first offensive drive, I noticed something was off.

It appeared to me as though Dylan Raiola’s pants featured a much larger double stripe than the other players on the field. Maybe I was seeing things. Whatever. Not important.

The game continued and Raiola tried whatever he could to give his team a chance to win.

Everybody and their mother was talking about how he looked like Patrick Mahomes but I could not break my focus on his pants. They just looked off. Something was not quite right.

Sure enough, upon further review, his stripes are indeed wider than the rest of the team.

According to Kaleb Henry and Dave Feit of HuskerMax, this has been a thing all season. Both at home and on the road.

Nebraska has new game pants.

Here’s another look at the stripes from Sept. 13:

So what gives?

The general hypothesis seems to be that Dylan Raiola is wearing last year’s game pants. There are rumblings that this year’s pants are not quite as comfortable or flexible.

Maybe Nebraska’s quarterback doesn’t like the fit. Maybe it’s a superstition thing.

I don’t know why the stripes do not match or why he supposedly wears old pants but I am glad I am not crazy. It was the first thing I noticed during the Cornhuskers’ loss. My eyes were not playing tricks on me!
