EA Sports Drops Teaser Trailer, Logo, And Timeline For ‘College Football 25’

NCAA Football video game

EA Sports

It’s been more than a decade since EA Sports dropped the last installment of the NCAA Football franchise, and now, we know when we’ll get our first real look at (and be able to play) the game that’s officially been dubbed College Football 25.

If you were a fan of the NCAA Football games, you likely know EA Sports made the decision to discontinue the series following the release of the title that dropped in the summer of 2013 in the wake of the landmark Supreme Court decision that ruled the company had improperly harnessed the image and likeness of college athletes.

There was technically nothing stopping the developer from continuing to pump out games featuring rosters filled with generic players, but it ultimately decided to cut its losses while subsequently depriving college football fans of the joy that came with turning a tiny G5 program into a national powerhouse.

However, the tides began to turn when another Supreme Court case ushered in the NIL Era in 2020, and the following year, the folks at EA Sports announced they were bringing the beloved video game back from the dead.

Since then, we’ve been treated to a steady trickle of news concerning what to expect from the upcoming reboot.

There were rumors a trailer was going to drop in conjunction with this year’s national championship that failed to come to fruition, and while some insiders claimed they’d discovered a release date has been slated for July 12, 2024, EA Sports has yet to confirm that’s the case.

With that said, we were treated to our most significant development to date on Thursday courtesy of the official Twitter/X account for College Football 25, which was updated to unveil a new logo as well as a bio that currently reads “Coming this summer. Full reveal in May.”

We also got a brief look at what’s in store courtesy of a teaser that doesn’t really shed much light on what to expect but is nonetheless a major development for people who’ve been waiting 10 years for any news.
