EA Sports is set to release its new College Football 25 video game at some point this summer. An exact release date has yet to be announced but preorders can be placed at GameStop so the developers are not just pulling the wool over our eyes. It’s really happening!

As exciting as this is, there has been a lot of concern about the look and feel of the game amongst fans. The Madden series has been largely underwhelming in recent years. Nobody wants College Football 25 to look or feel anything like its NFL counterpart.

In addition to the bugs that often cause the game to crash, many of the complaints with the Madden series revolve around the in-game action. Things like passes that repeatedly slip through the wide receiver’s hands and lead to unrealistic interceptions, or running backs who trip over nearby defenders are a large focus of the frustrations shared by gamers. Those annoyances don’t even include the “glitches” that exploit the gameplay to create guaranteed success.

All of this goes to say that college football fans obviously don’t want those same issues to translate to College Football 25.

They were especially disappointed when multiple reports said last year that the new game will be on the same engine as Madden. That creates concern that all of the same issues with Madden will exist, which would be a serious letdown.

While we don’t know for sure that the engine will be problematic, EA Sports continues to reiterate that the games won’t have that much in common. They are not going to be the same.

A developer at EA reportedly said that he/she cannot wait to “put the Madden clone talk to rest.”

That is music to the ears of anyone who is going to buy the game!
